Ted Stevens: Trial Update

WE'VE MOVED! Democratic Convention Watch is now at http://www.DemocraticConventionWatch.com

I received an e-mail asking about how the Stevens trial was going. I've posted a bunch on it, if you use the "tags" section on the right side bar and select "Senate" you'll find the posts.

Ted has finished testifying, and he was the last defense witness. If all goes as expected, closing arguments will be today, followed by the judge's instructions, and the case will go to the DC jury today or tomorrow.

For fun, read the Anchorage Daily News wrap-up, and then answer this question: If someone delivered a $3000 massage chair to your house, had previously sent you an e-mail letting you know it was coming, and hoped you'd enjoy it would you: a) send a thank you note for the gift or b) let it stay in your house for 7 years and believe that the person still owned it?

Now that you're up to date, let's play politics!

As you know, Ted Stevens is up for re-election, running against Anchorage Mayor Mark Begich. The polls have tightened over the trial, although Begich is still slightly ahead. What will the affect of the jury trial be?
